Howard Kremer and Kulap Vilaysack sung a little on-the-spot theme to signal the winner of the Leonard Maltin Game on Doug Loves Movies. I arranged a little accompaniment for it. “It almost worked out.”
This quick jingle I did for NY comedian Sarah Walker, who has a column on FunnyorDie.com with Noah Garfinkel entitled Drunk Girl/High Guy, where the two titular characters visit cultural events in their respective states. In one article, Sarah encourages Noah to smoke in a particular alley by singing this song. She asked me to compose a “remix” for the article. I sent her two. A frantic techno styling, as well as a slow jam.
This is the theme I composed for Professor Blastoff, the science-comedy podcast starring Tig Notaro, Kyle Dunnigan & David Huntsberger. All-original music and dialogue from an early episode of the podcast cut, rearranged, and altered to create the effect of the hosts introducing the theme of the show. While riding on a spaceship. Or something like that.
This is a “demo reel” of sorts featuring snippets of all-original content I have produced over the past year for a variety of different projects. Compositions feature both midi and audio.
I wrote a series of cues for the new Earwolf Challenge podcast. This is my favorite one, which plays each week when they call in the “bottom 3” contestants to determine who will be cut from the show.
Bob Ducca, Comedy Bang-Bang’s resident sufferer, sang a quick tune for himself on one episode. I grabbed a few other clips and turned it into a theme song fit for a Carsey-Werner sitcom.
Chris Hardwick’s Nerdist podcast has a segment where he and his co-hosts, Jonah Ray and Matt Mira, read listener comment/questions, or “quemments”. They sang a quick ditty one episode to introduce it, and I retrofit some cheesy, overly orchestrated lounge music behind it.
The first of a series of quick spots I did for Jon Daly’s UCB LA shows, featuring his incredibly funny drunk English pine tree character, Sappity Tappity. The song was improvised by Jon during a plug he did on the Comedy Bang-Bang podcast. I retrofit a sort of 60s bikini romp jingle behind it.
Another spot I did for Jon Daly and Sappity Tappity. Dialogue cut from two separate podcasts to give the effect of Sappity introducing himself and his upcoming show. A boozy jazz soundtrack with a fitting little tease on the intro. I hope I don’t get a cease and desist letter from some 300 year old German creep.
Tom Scharpling, of The Best Show on WFMU fame, has a habit of playing a little mouth trumpet when his show isn’t going too well. I culled a few choice riffs from many different episodes and gave it the royal treatment. This is was the first submission featured on his “Best Show Rewards Program” segment.
